Taru Terms of Service
Taru is operated by 1779290 Alberta Ltd. (“Taru”, “we”). These terms apply to clinics that use the Taru software and gettaru.com. By creating an account, the clinic agrees to these terms.
1. The service
Taru provides online booking, intake forms, charting, invoicing, payments, reminders and a patient portal for clinics. We may change or improve features over time.
2. Accounts
The clinic owner is responsible for the account and for every user they add. Keep passwords private. Tell us right away if you think an account was accessed without permission.
3. Plans and payment
Your price is the one in the quote we agree with you, in Canadian dollars. Plans bill monthly in advance by card through Stripe. Prices do not include applicable taxes. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change.
4. Price guarantee
Before you sign up, we compare your Taru quote with a recent monthly bill from your current clinic software for the same number of practitioners and staff.
If your Taru monthly price is higher than that bill, your first 3 months of Taru are free. We apply it as a credit on your Taru bills, not as a cash refund.
Taxes, optional add-ons such as two-way texting and text campaigns, and card processing fees charged by Stripe or your card terminal provider are not part of the comparison.
The guarantee applies once per clinic, to clinics joining Taru for the first time.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel anytime. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid month. We do not refund partial months.
6. Clinic data
The clinic owns the information it enters. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy. The clinic is responsible for getting consent from its clients and for meeting the privacy and health information laws that apply to it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Taru to break the law, send spam, store information you have no right to hold, or interfere with the service. We may suspend an account that does.
8. Payments to clinics
Card payments from clients are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms. Taru is not responsible for chargebacks, disputes or payouts handled by Stripe or by a clinic's own terminal.
9. Availability
We work to keep Taru running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may pause the service for maintenance.
10. Limitation of liability
Taru is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the clinic paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or lost-profit damages.
11. Ending the account
When an account closes, the clinic can request an export of its data. We delete the data within a reasonable time unless the law requires us to keep it.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The latest version will always be posted on gettaru.com. Continuing to use Taru after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
